Hungarian Forint Overview

The Forint is the official currency of Hungary and is issued by the Hungarian National Bank.

The Hungarian Hungarian monetary unit, or HUF, was established because of the official currency of the Republic of Hungary in 1946.

The name forint springs from Florence, that is wherever Hungary’s golden cash has been minted since 1252. One forint equivalent of 100 filler, but the filler was removed from circulation in 1999.

As a member of the ECU Union, Republic of Hungary plans to before long replace the Hungarian monetary unit with the monetary unit because it remains the sole ex-socialist European currency left in circulation.

The modification over to the monetary unit is anticipated to occur between 2012 and 2014, betting on the economic scenario at the time. The Republic of Hungary is also the last country to adopt the monetary unit although as debates regarding inflation have developed since 2005.
