Card Identification Number/Card Identifier (CID)
An American Express and Find confirmation process that uses a non-embellished three-or four-digit number printed while approving MasterCard exchanges where the physical card isn’t present. On American Express cards, the CID is a four-digit code imprinted on the front of the card. On Find cards, the CID is a three-digit code printed beside the card number on the mark board.
